The biggest event of the year is the St Thomas Carnival. Every April, the festival is a celebration of Caribbean culture and life. It includes a parade, beauty pageant and food fair. It is the best time to sample the food of the local people and see colourful Caribbean clothing. The agricultural fair is held in November. Locals come to the market to buy vegetables, herbs and other plants, while visitors delight in finding some very unique St Thomas collectibles.
